We Love Supporting Our Community

The Yavapai Humane Society is dedicated to being a no-kill shelter.  They have been exceptionally successful to this end and because of that I am dedicated to helping them.  I donate a portion of my commission from every sales transaction to the Yavapai Humane Society.  So, when you work with me, you are also helping lots of fur-babies!

Our Mira came to us from YHS.  We had recently moved and we talked abut getting a puppy.  Hubby wanted to wait until after our housewarming party.  I disagreed, but I tried to respect his wishes. Well...I meant to.  Really, I did.

One day, we were driving home from running some errands and I said, "let's just stop in and see if they even have puppies."  He knew better, but stopped anyway.  I agreed not to fall in love and promised that we were not getting a dog that day.

I walked in and she was a wee little thing in the first kennel to my left.  I glanced at her and told myself that I could not stop.  I walked down, looked at all the other dogs and came back.  When I got back down to her, she was in play position with her little paws under the front of her kennel.  And that was it.

I had them take her out.  I played with her.  Hubby left the building.  Needless to say, I left that day in tears.  The nice lady at the reception desk told me that they were about to close and what time they opened in the morning so I could come back for her.  She assured me that no one else would get her between "now and the morning."

From 3pm to 9pm I worked every angle I could think of.  Poor guy.  Eventually, he caved and the next morning my stepson and I went back to get her.

When I went to get her is when I heard her story.

They called her the "miracle puppy."  She had come in with her litter and she was the only girl.  Her brothers did not let her eat and YHS was not sure, at first, if she was going to make it.  They bottle fed her and took great care of her.  My Mira is with us today because of the love and care she received at YHS.

When we were trying to name her we did not want to call her miracle.  I felt it would jinx her (a tad superstitious I am).  My stepson suggested Mira, short for miracle.  And so...we have our Mira.

In addition to our Mira, we have a husky-mix, Meeko, that we have added to our family.

As you can see, animals are a passion of mine and I love that I am able to do something for animals through my business. Joinging one passion with another is a privilege that I am grateful for.

Thank you for your support.  Every time you choose to work with me - you make the world a better place.
